Real American: Jon Stewart, Sarah Palin and Hulk Hogan

Daily Show: Pfriend or Pfoe

Jon Stewart speaks to the charges made by some in the McCain camp that not all Americans are "Real" Americans:
Nancy Pfotenhauer - McCain Campaign spokesperson
But the rest of the state, real Virginia, if you will, I think will be very responsive to Senator McCain’s message...

Sarah Palin - GOP Vice Presidential Nominee
We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic very pro-America areas of this great nation...

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann for Minnesota
What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think people would love to see an expose like that...

You know the third crazy lady is right. Right now you're probably thinking to yourself "Am I one of these Unamericans i'm hearing so much about?"

Ironically, Hulk "Real American" Hogan endorses Barack Obama. In fairness Hogan did proclaim this earlier in the year well before Sarah Palin entered the stage.

Jon Stewart began his rebuke of the "Real American" messaging during a comedy routine at Northeastern University days earlier.
"I can't take it anymore...After eight years of this divisiveness, we're back to this idea that only small-town America is the real America," he said.
